Sky Cinema to launch new animation movie channel


Sky Cinema is launching the excitement of animation this October, bringing classic and new animation titles on a bespoke channel for the first time. Sky Cinema animation, will debut on Saturday 14 October and will be on-air for three weeks. It will feature new releases such as Sing and Oscar-nominated Trolls, as well as classic Disney family favourites Robin Hood, The Emperor’s New Groove and Mulan.

Sky Cinema Animation will have over 60 movies to choose from, including The Secret Life of Pets, one of the highest grossing movies of 2016. Sky Cinema will also celebrate animation on Saturday 4 November, for ‘Ice Age Day’. For 13 hours, fans will be able to enjoy a day with Sid, Manfred and Scrat in movies such as: Ice Age, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs and Ice Age: Collision Course. On Halloween (31 October)

Sky Cinema is hosting ‘Family Frights Day’ on the new channel. Spooky themed animated films such as Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie and The Nightmare Before Christmas will be available.Sky Cinema will celebrate Ice Age Day with a 13-hour marathon of the popular film series and the 80th anniversary of Disney’s classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – the first feature-length Disney film, which gave birth to the modern animation genre.

Hello Kitty celebrates her 35 Happy Birthday



Kitty cannot gust out the candles however its Hello Kitty 35th birthday today. Hello Kitty started by Sanrio the Japanese greeting card firm in 1974, the silent, unexplained graceful made her US debut in 1976 and is now an international style icon. Fashion entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons asks "Who doesn't love Kitty?" Kimora said "Everyone from Paris Hilton to me, to Kelly Ripa, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Tyra Banks, Iman. I mean everybody loves Kitty."


Hello Kitty isn't as for all time as innocent as she looks a since-discontinued "shoulder massager" liked a short heyday as an, ahem, marital aid except her fame shows no signs of fading. An Italian-born artist delighted to have a piece included in a birthday compliment exhibition tells "It's a huge honor because Hello Kitty is the most iconic cute character."
